C&G 2391-10 - INSPECTION & TESTING

T
his short course, originally developed by Brian Scaddan Associates Ltd on behalf of the City & Guilds, and in association with the NICEIC, forms a useful bridge between the C&G 2382-10 (17th Edition) and the C&G 2391-20 (Design, Erection & Verification) courses.

The course is 24 hours duration in which time the candidate will need to, (1) show practical competence in the area of inspection, testing & certification, and (2) undertake a written assessment set by the City & Guilds, which comprises a two part written paper of 20 short answer and 6 structured questions.

Success in both practical and written components results in a full C&G 2391-10 certificate, which may be used as an exemption from the testing component of the C&G 2391-20.

Courses will be run subject to demand, and will be delivered one evening a week for 10 or 12 weeks or one day a week for five weeks. It is not considered wise to undertake this course unless candidates have attended and passed a 17th Edition course and have some practical experience of inspection and testing. However, consideration, advice, and guidance will be given to all interested applicants.

Course handouts will be provided, and although the final online assessment is 'closed book', candidates are advised to have their own copie of BS7671:2008 (The IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations), the IEE Guidance Note 3 on Inspection & Testing. Copies are available to order via our text book page.
