The IET 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
(BS:7671:2008) |
|
This short course was
originally developed to enable JIB registered
electricians to become aware of the requirements of
the then, 15th. Edition. Since that time, candidates
other than JIB operatives have attended such
courses, and it has now become a valuable
qualification for all in the electrical industry and
allied trades and professions. We consider this
qualification a necessary entry requirement to the
C&G 2391 and 2392
courses.
The program is of 24
hours duration, in which time the candidate will
study all aspects of the Regulations including basic
design procedures and the fundamentals of testing &
inspection.
The final City &
Guilds assessment is a two hour multiple choice
on-line examination comprising 60 questions.
Courses will
run subject to demand, and will be delivered one
evening a week for 10 or 12 weeks, or one day a week
for four weeks.
|
Please note:
Course handouts will be
provided, but candidates will be required to have
their own copies of the
17th. Edition (BS7671:2008).

Inspection, Testing &
Certification of Electrical Installations |
|
This short course,
developed by
Brian
Scaddan Associates on behalf of the City & Guilds
and in association with the NICEIC, forms a useful
bridge between the C&G 2382 (17th
Edition) and the C&G 2391-20 (Design. Erection &
Verification) courses.
During the
course the candidate will need to:
1. Show
practical competence in the area of inspection,
testing & certification.
2. Undertake a written
assessment set by City & Guilds. Which comprises of
a two part written paper of short answers and
structured questions.
Success in
both practical and written components results in a
C&G 2391-10 Inspection, Testing and Certification
certificate, which may be used as an exemption from
the testing component of the C&G 2391-20.
Courses will
run subject to demand and will be delivered one
evening a week for 10-12 weeks or one day a week for
five weeks.
It is not considered wise
to undertake this course unless candidates have
experience in inspection and testing and have
attained a C&G
17th
Edition qualification. However, consideration,
advice and guidance will be given to all interested
applicants.

Design, Erection & Verification of Electrical
Installations |
|
This short
course was developed to meet one of the various
requirements for NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor
status.
The course
is 24 hours duration in which time the candidate
will need to:

Guilds.
(10
Questions )
2. Complete
a City & Guilds project which demonstrates the
ability
to design
and consider erection methods for a typical
installation.
3. Complete
a practical assessment.
Success in
all three components results in a full C&G Design,
Erection & Verification certificate (ex 2400)
whereas success in any one, only attracts a Record
of Achievement for that component.
Courses will
run subject to demand, and will be delivered one
evening a week for
10 or 12
weeks.
It is not considered wise
to undertake this course unless candidates have
considerable knowledge of the Electrical Contracting
